There are between 20-25 kin buried here dating from the mid-1870's. Below is a list of the people buried here from such distinguished families. It is a family cemetery so all the people here are closely related in some form or another. When this project was started by James Ezekiel Anderson, Mary A. Leggette, John Q. Anderson and Roger Anderson in the fall of 1995, the cemetery was in great dis-repair. It was overgrown with weeds and shrubs, the iron fence surrounding the cemetery was bent and broken in many places due to ice storms that snapped many of the pines that surrounded it. What was the most disturbing was that alot of the headstones had been knocked over by either the trees falling in the cemetery or vandals tipping them over. After many months of hard work and dedication by "Zeke", Albert, John Q. and Roger Anderson, the headstones were righted, trees cut, fences mended and grass cut. The cemetery is now easy to get to and the headstones are available for any in the family to view. There are a few more things that need to be done such as; The fence needs to be treated with a rust inhibitor and painted and; The land needs to be surveyed. If you are a family member who lives in the Northern Piedmont of NC and would like to donate some time and sweat or are interested in contacting the Cemetery Committee, please email Slade Anderson at Sanderson@Accolade.com or Roger Anderson at Joleroger@Aol.com.
