CASWELL COUNTY, NC - DEEDS - John Davis to his son, David Davis ----¤¤¤¤---- Caswell County, North Carolina Book X, page 24-25 This Indenture made this first day of November in the year of Our lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven between John Davis, of the County of Caswell and State of North Carolina of one part and David Davis, his son, of the said County and State of the other part witnesses that the said John Davis, for and in consideration of natural love and affection which he bears unto his said son, David Davis, and for the further considerations of one dollar to him in hand paid by the said David Davis, the receipt whereof is, hereby acknowledged hath given, granted, bargained and sold and by these present, doth give, grant, bargain, sell, and convey to the said Davis a certain tract or parcel of land situated lying and being in the said County of Caswell on the Waters Rattle Snake Creek beginning at the stake near a red bud and turning thence east two chains to an old hickory stump in a field, thence south four chains and twenty links to a stake, thence east seven chains and 40 links to a stake near a walnut tree, thence south sixty five chains to pointers on a small branch, thence down the branch nine chains and 50 links to a maple, thence north 42 degrees west fifteen chains and 50 links to a post oak, thence north fifty-one chains and 70 links to the beginning containing one hundred acres and the said John doth hereby covenant with the said David that he will warrant and forever defend the above bargained land and promises from and against all claims of any nature whatever to the only proper use and behoof of him the said David Davis, his heirs, and assigns forever.
