Witnesseth that the said Mastin Powell for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and sixty dollars to him in hand paid by the said Carter Powell at of before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and therefore acquit and forever discharge the said Carter Powell his heirs, executors and administrators by these presents hath granted, bargained sold aliened and released and confirm and by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien or release and confirm unto the said Carter Powell and unto his heirs and assigns forever all his the said Mastin Powell's right title interest and estate whether real, personal or equitable in the Estate of his mother the late Elizabeth Powell, both that which has come or may ever come hereafter into the hands of her administrator Carter Powell and also what may be due and coming to her Estate from the Estate from the Estate of her father Mastin Powell late of the county of Halifax, Virginia and now in the hands of his executor Isaac Saterfield also all his right title interest and Estate whether real personal or equitable in the Estate of his father the late Jarold Powell, deceased to have and to hold all the said right title interest and Estate unto him the said Carter Powell his heirs and assigns forever and the said Mastin Powell for himself his heirs executors and administrators doth covenant to and with the said Carter Powell his heirs and assigns by these presents in the manner and form following to wit that he the said Mastin Powell and his heirs all the right title interest and Estate conveyed or so intended to be unto the said Carter Powell his heirs and assigns and against all and every person or persons whatsoever will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In witness whereof he the said Mastin Powell hath hereunto set his hand and seal this 23rd day of December in the year of our Lord 1848. Mastin J.
