Additional Comments:
Spelling of names were not required to be proven by legal documents in the 
early days, names that were recorded on documents was subject to interpretation 
by the writer, which was affected my their interpretation of
what they thought they heard, and relied solely upon the interpreters intellect 
for spelling. This created a variety of spellings for people with the same 
sounding name.   There were no rules governing spelling.  Nor has there always 
been 28 letters of the alphabet.  Some places experienced a shortage of ink and 
paper, thus shortening some names.
