BESSIE McCANN BARKER

   FRANKLIN – A funeral service for Mrs. Bessie McCann Barker was conducted in 
Swicegood Funeral Home, Danville, Monday, Dec. 19, at 2 p.m.  Burial was in 
Danville Memorial Gardens. The body was sent to Danville from W.J.M. Holland & 
Sons Funeral Home, Franklin.

   Mrs. Barker, 42, died Saturday morning in Southampton Memorial Hospital.

   A native of Caswell County, N.C., she was a daughter of Floyd Lee and Mrs. 
Beatrice Hamlett McCann and the wife of Aubrey J. Barker.

   Besides her husband, she is survived by her stepmother, Mrs. Sue Thaxton 
McCann of Danville; three daughters, Miss Sandra Barker, Miss Sherrell Barker, 
and Miss Diana Barker, and two sons, Thomas Wayne Barker and Bobby Lee Barker, 
all of Franklin; three sisters, Mrs. Thelma Hyler, Mrs. Dorothy Williamson, and 
Mrs. Joyce McGhee of Danville; and three brothers, Floyd Lee McCann of 
Courtland, Garland Ray McCann of Danville and Jerry D. McCann of Ft. Benning, 
Ga.
