II, P. 1 LAURA SUTHERLIN TAYLOR GEE Mrs. Laura Taylor Gee, 81, mother of Alden H. Gee of Franklin, with whom she had been making her home, died at the residence in Alexandria of her daughter, Mrs. Ila F. White, at 4 o’clock Friday afternoon, November 8, Mrs. Gee was born in Semora (Caswell County), N.C., a daughter of the late Columbus A. and Mazuria Taylor. In early life she moved with her parents to Danville and lived in that city until the death 17 years ago of her husband, Joshua Gee. She was a member of Lebanon Christian Church in Semora; but in later life she attended Delray Baptist Church in Alexandria. Since the death of her husband Mrs. Gee had made her home with her children, by whom she is survived. They are Mrs. Ila F. White and Mrs. Phyllis G. Hammersley of Alexandria and Alden H. Gee of Franklin. Other survivors are two brothers, Wilson and Charles Taylor of Danville; four sisters, Mrs. Nettie Williamson of Milton, N.C., and Mrs. Vergie T. Powell, Mrs. Claudia A. Barber and Miss Lena C. Taylor, all of Danville; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services for Mrs. Gee were held from the Wrenn-Yeatts Chapel, Danville, at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, with Rev. Edwin M. Vaughan officiating. Burial was in Mountain View Cemetery.
