New Orleans Christian Advocate-  Nov. 23, 1859
 REV. THOMAS GUNN, Methodist minister, died in Robertson, Tenn., 13 May, 1859. 
He was born in Nottaway County, Virginia, on April 10 1770; while young his 
father moved to Caswell County, N. C., where he joined the M. E. Church at age 
18. He was ordained a deacon at Lynchburg, Va., on Feb. 4, 1808 by BISHOP 
ASHBURY. He moved to Robertson, Tenn., and was ordained an elder by BISHOP M. 
KENDREE, in Tenn. on Oct. 4, 1814. The late WILLIAM GUNN of Kentucky was his 
nephew.
