   DEPARTED THIS LIFE, 18 January, 1858, MRS. NANCY GRAVES RAMSEY, in her 60th 
year. She was the daughter of the late THOMAS YANCEY of Caswell County, N. C., 
where she was born 10 August 1798. She lost both her parents in early 
childhood, and her uncle, the late HON. BARTLETT YANCEY became her guardian.
  She married AMBROSE K. RAMSEY of Chatham County, on Oct. 7th, 1817. In March 
1831, they removed to and settled in Marengo County, Alabama, thence they 
removed to Sumter County, S. C., in 1848 and remained there until her death. 
She lived to see fiver of her children members of the church.
