I Elisha Berry of the County of of [sic] Caswell and State of North Carolina being of sound mind and memory but infirm in body and in bad health, and calling to mind the uncertanity [sic] of life and the Certanity [sic] of death, and being desirous before death of deposing [sic] of what Estate it has been [sic] pleased God to bless me with in this life, I do hereby make & publish this, as my last will & Testament in Manner & form following ~ 1st It is my desire, & I do I [sic] instruct my Executors to pay off and discharge any Just debts I my [sic] owe at my death, and to give me a decent Christen Burial such as my Family my [sic] desire & they Shall expedent [sic] ~ 2nd I devise to my Wife Frances during her life or Widowhood the plantation and land on which I now live during her natural life or Widowhood, and in Case She Should think proper to marry again my desire is that the whole of my property both real and personal be equally divided among all my then living Children. 3rd I here Constitute and Appoint my Wife Frances Berry Executrix and her Brother Antiochus Boswell my Executor, of this my last Will and Testament. The Execution of the foregoing last Will and Testament of Elisha Berry decd. was duly proved in Open Court by the Oath of Genl. Azariah Graves and John Sommers the subscribing witnesses thereto and on motion Ordered to be Recorded.
