to wife Mary H tract of land where I now live west of the Academy Branch know 
as JOHNSTON land, also tract of land adjoining Lebanon church lot...... If wife 
should marry she shall have 1/3 of land and 1/2 the property and her husband 
shall control.  Daughter; Agnes B Apple} to negroes Sam and John, $2100.00.to 
Elizabeth A Smith and Mary I Smith} 2 negroes Celia and Mildred. Granddaughter-
Mary JE Apple. 1 negro Alice.......

The old "Wills" are a challenge to read. I interpreted them the best I could 
and tried to included only useful information to aide in genealogy research. 
The office where these old records are kept has standing room only and they do 
not make copies of the "WILL" because they are old and bound in big books. If 
you need additonal information, I recommend you physically view the records for 
personal interpretation.
