I John Lyon in the county of Caswell and State of North carolina in sound sence and memory But colling to mind the uncartanty of Life and the assurence of death do make constitute & ordaine this my Last will & Testament in manner & form following -- Itom I giv sole to god who giv it to me & my bodey to the Earth to be buried at the discretion of my Executers hear after mentioned, that after all my just debts & funeral expences is paide My Estate is then to decend in manner & form following Viz -- Item I giv and bequeath unto my Son James Lyon one Hundred Acers of Land more or les that he Traded with Terisher Turner and one negro garl named Bet, & one Fether bead & furneture one cow & calf one Mare which he has allredey had, Item I giv and bequeath unto my Sun William Lyon one Track of Land contaning one hundred & Seventy Acers Which he now Livs on & one negro gal named Jude & her Increces to him & his hairs for Ever. Item I giv and Bequeath unto my Son Peter Lyon the two hundred and forty seven Acers of Land that I bought from Bennet Nalley allso the Entrey he bought from Bennett Nalley 300 Acers more or less Allso one negro garl named marcy to him and his heirs for Ever -- Item I giv and bequeath unto my Son Henry Lyon one hundred acr. Land Lying betwene Wm. Lyon & Ruben Jurdin, Allso one negro garl named Rase and hur Increces to him his heirs for Ever. Item I giv and bequeath unto my grandson Richard Tankersly Lyon Two hundred Acers of Land That I bought from Joshua Cate, allso one negro garl named Tamer after my Wife Deceest -- Item I giv and bequeath unto my gran Daughter Salley Turner one negro garl named Pat after my wife Decest, Item My will is that if I Die before I can convenently go in to Verginea in Amhurst County To Make A Write to a carton Track of Land Where I formerly Lived Collad the rich Cove Contaning Three hundred & fifty Acers more or Less, that My Executers, my will is Should Make Bennett Naley a good & Lawfull Write to the Said Track of Land, Further My Will is that my son in Law Samuel Anderson Shall Sell My Track that Is colled the Mill Track of Land contaning one hundred & Fifty Acers More or Less for the best price he could git, and Further I do in power him the Said Samuel Anderson to Make a good and Lawfull Deed for the Same, and the Money Arising from the Sale of the Said Land is to pay My Debts & the overplush if aney to fall in the rest of My Estate, Item I Lend to My beLoved Wife jean Lyon all my Estate both Rael and pursernell During hur natrel Life or Widowhood, and then my will is that my hole Estate Shall Be Equelly Devided between my Legatees, My will is that Three men of this corte, chosen by the My Executers to Lot out My Estate That is not all redey givin away Equelly and then my Legatees Shall Draw for ther parts or git Sum Littel Boy to do it for them, ------------ I constitute and appointe My Trusty Frend John Womack and John Farrer My Executers of this my Laste will and Testament Revoking all Former Wills Ecknowledging and ALowing this to Be my Last will and Testament in Witness Whareof have hearunto Set My hand and Seal this Twenty Thurd Day of Aprell One thousand Seven hundred & Eighty fore --- John Lyon Seale Sined Seled and Acknowledged In presents of Us his James ("P" on a stand) Messer mark hur Jemimah (V) Messer mark hur Ann (+) Messer mark Eadr.
