Linebarger Deed Consideration $500 Dated the (blank) day (blank), 187(blank) Filed for Registration on the 26 day of March, 1877 at 12 o’clock, (blank) M., and registered in the office of the Register of Deeds for Catawba County, N.C., this 27 day of March 1877, at 8 o’clock, PM., in Book 10 of Deeds, on page 401 & 402 &c. Be it Remembered, That on the 17 day of March 1877, before me, SM Ferrell Trial Justice, personally appeared Ms A V Ivy the grantor named in the foregoing Deed, who acknowledged the due execution thereof, by A.V. Ivey as his act and deed; and thereupon the said A.V. Ivey being by me privately examined, separate and apart from her said husband, touching her free consent to the execution of said deed, she, on such, her examination, declares that she executed the same freely, of her own will and accord, and without any force, fear or undue influence of her said husband, or any other person, and does still voluntarily assent thereto, and hereby relinquishes her right of dower in said land. Let the said deed, with this certificate, be registered. (Signed) A. V. Ivy (Signed) S.M. Ferrell Trial Justice State of South Carolina York County This Deed, made this Seventh day of April 1875, by J.M. Ivy and wife A.V. Ivy of York County and State of South Carolina to F.P. Lineberger of Catawba County, and State of North Carolina Witnesseth: That said J.M. Ivy and wife [illegible] in consideration of Five hundred Dollars, to them paid by F.P. Linebarger, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have bargained and sold, and by these presents do bargain, sell and convey to said F.P. Linebarger and his heirs a tract of land in Catawba County, State of North Carolina, adjoining the lands of Thomas Beatty, M.M. Gabriel and others, bounded as follows, viz: Beginning at two hickorys Thomas Beatties corner, and runs with his line, S.30 W.20 poles to a stake on the bank of the creek, there up and crossing the creek N.64 W.103 poles to a hickory, then N.1 1/2o crossing the creek 121 poles to a rock the old corner, then along the old line S.89 E25 poles to a rock pile then a new line S.26 E 71 poles to a post then S 69 E 24 ˝ poles to a rock in the west side of the rock, then S.80 E 121 poles to a [illegible] the bank of mountain creek their down the meandering of said creek to the mouth of Reeds Creek then up said Creek [illegible]on the North Bank Beatties corner their [illegible] poles to the beginning 25 acres more [illegible]. To Have and to Hold, the aforesaid tract and all privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging, to the said F.P. and his heirs and assigns to their only use and behoof. And the said J.M. Ivey & wife Mrs. A.V. Ivey covenant that they are seized of said premises in fee, and have a right to convey the same in fee-simple, that the same are free from all incumberances, and that they will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whatsoever.
