This Indenture made this 29th day of March 1873 between E.A. Proctor and S.E. 
Proctor his wife of the County of Lincoln and State of North Carolina of the 
one part and John A. Little of the County of Catawba and State of North 
Carolina Winesseth that the Said E.A. Proctor and S.E. Proctor for and in 
consideration of the Sum of Three hundred Dollars to them in hand paid by the 
Sd. John A. Little the Recept where of hereby acknowledge that give granted 
bargained and Sold and by these presents do give grant bargain sele alien and 
confirm unto the Sd John A. Little his heirs and assigns forever all that 
piece or parcel of land [ ] and being in the County of Catawba and State of 
North Carolina and on the waters of Mountain Creek and is bounded as follows: 
Beginning at a Pine Stump, Frederick Linebargers corner and runs with his line 
S 15 E 252 Poles to a Pine Stump in a field thence N 74 E 78 Poles to a rock 
thence N14 W 286 [?] poles to a pine stump thence N 65 W 24 poles to a stake 
thence North 35 poles to a small gum thence S 74 W 78 poles to the beginning 
Containing by Estimation one hundred and Seventeen and one fourth acres more 
or less and also all woods [ways written] counter and all here determined and 
appurtenences thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining to have and to 
hold unto the Sd. John A. Little his heirs and assigns and the Sd. E.A. 
Proctor and S.E. Proctor will warrant and defend the title of the above lands 
against the claims or entry of all other persons in witness whereof they have 
hereunto set their hands and seals in presents of
