NC Troops  A Roster
WILLIAM H HICKS, Private
 Resided in Catawba County where he was by occupation a farmer prior to 
enlisting in Cleveland or Catawba County at age 18, February 12, 1863, for the 
war. Reported at home on sick furlough in May-June, 1864. Reported to duty on 
an unspecified date. Reported present in September-October, 1864. Captured near 
Hatcher's Run, Virginia, March 25, 1865. Confinedat Point Lookout, Maryland, 
April 2, 1865. Released at Point Lookout on June 13, 1865, after taking the 
Oath of Allegiance.
