Aug  8., 1845           Charlotte Journal August 8, 1845
   A. H. SHUFIELD, ESQ., Sheriff of Catawba County, settled his Public 
Accounts with the Officers of State on Saturday last, the 26th inst. -- being 
the first sheriff in the State to do so. Sheriffs are allowed until the first 
day of October to make their settlement. -- RAL. REGISTER of 29th ult.
