Newton, Oct. 14 - Rev. A.L. Crouse, formerly a professor in Lenoir College and 
once pastor of St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, died yesterday at 
Charlottsville, Va., where he was pastor of a church, and the body was brought 
to this county today and will be buried at St. Stephen's tomorrow morning at 
11 o'clock. He was over 60 years of age and for many years had been identified 
with the Lutheran ministry. He was a native of Cabarrus County. Because he was 
a much beloved man, it is expected that one of the largest assemblages ever 
seen at St. Stephen's will attend tomorrow's services.
