  D. SAMUEL DEAL

 TAYLORSVILLE- D. Samuel Deal, 74, of Rt 2, Taylorsville, died Saturday at 
N.C. Baptist Hospital. 
 Born Jan. 1, 1913, in Alexander County, he was a son of the late Charlie and 
Lula Wike Deal.
 He was a retired owner of an apple orchard.
 Survivors include his wife, Thelma Bumgarner Deal; four sisters, Anna Belle 
Bentley of Alexander County and Estelle Deal, Nora Lou Bowman, and Jennie Wike 
of Taylorsville; a brother, Henley Deal of Taylorsville; three stepsons, Fred 
Bumgarner, Johnnie Bumgarner and Randy Bumgarner of Taylorsville; and two 
stepdaughters, Margie Mays and Carol Mecimore of Taylorsville.
 The funeral will be conducted by the Revs. Dwight Austin, Herman Johnson, and 
Raymond White at 3 p.m. today at Mount Herman Baptist Church.
 Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.
 Adams Funeral Home is in charge of Arrangements.

His first wife Effie Mae Wike DEal died in 1965 and they had no children
