Margaret L. Fowler
GRANITE FALLS- Margaret Lucille Fowler, 87, of Granite Falls, passed away 
Sunday July 5, 2009, at Lutheran Home-West. She was born Oct. 22, 1921, in 
Caldwell County to the late Donel Bain Fowler and Mattie Camilla Smith Fowler. 
In addition to her parents, she was preceeded in death by two sisters, Mary 
Frances Fowler Taylor and Irene Fowler Lafavere; one brother Wyatt S. Fowler; 
and two nieces, Donna Kay Taylor Phillips and Ann Lafevre Tygard. Mrs. Fowler 
was a member of Dudley Shoals Baptist Church and retired from Blue Ridge 
Community Action. Survivors include nephews, Phil Lafevre, Lee Lafevre, Donel 
Lafevre, Bob Taylor, Steve Taylor, and Wyatt Fowler Jr.; nieces, Inanna 
Lafevre, Camilla Taylor Holtsclaw, Debbie Fowler Lail and Polly Diane Fowler 
Dewitt; a brother-in-law, David A. Taylor; and many great-nieces and great-
nephews. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at 11 a.m. at 
Dudley Shoals Baptist Church, with the Revs. Ron Winkler and Don Ingle 
Officiating. Burial will follow in Dudley Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery. The 
family will recieve friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2009, prior to 
the service, at the church. Memorials may be made to Dudley Shoals Baptist 
Church, 1882 Dudley Shoals Road, Granite Falls, N.C. 28630. Bass-Smith Funeral
