RUCY JORDAN DIES IN SUFFOLK Smithfield, Oct. 10 – Mrs. Ruby Annas Jordan, 42, died in Obici Hospital, Suffolk, last night after a brief illness. A native of Catawba County, N.C., she had lived at Benns Church 20 years. She was an active member of the Benn’s Methodist Church, Friendship Class, Circle No. 2 and was counsellor for the Youth Fellowship. She was also was a member of the Smithfield Chapter, Order of the Easter Star. Surviving are her husband, Randolph A. Jordan; two daughters, the Misses Jean Edna and Barbara Anne Jordan; a son, R.A. Jordan, Jr.; mother, Mrs. Bertha P. Anna of Suffolk, and three brothers, Ray Vance and Harold Annas of Suffolk. The body will be taken from the Bullock Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Thursday to the Benns Methodist Church where service will be conducted at 3 p.m. by the Rev. Victor B. Anthony, pastor. Burial will be in Old St. Luke’s Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Barney Annas, James Annas, Ritchie Jordan, Frank Jordan, Edwin turner, Frank Wishart, Edwin Harrell, and Glenn Doggett. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Youth Fellowship, Woman’s Society and Order of the Eastern Star.
