Petition of Nancy DEETON of Chatham County "sheweth that in the year 
1797 her husband Thomas DEETON ran away takeing with him another woman 
and being much in debt, leaving your petitioner with a very small 
quantity of property all of which has been liable to his debts. Also 
with two small children whom your petitioner, with her own labour have 
since raised and maintained." Prays a law to secure to her such property 
as she may hereafter acquire.
