Thomas, of Chatham County, State of North Carolina, of the second 2nd. part. Witnesseth: that said W. H. Thomas, Nancy Thomas, F. M. Haithcox, Nettie Haithcox, J. D. Thomas, J. W. Thomas, Jack Pattrick, Ruthy Pattrick, J. W. Brown, Nancy Brown, N. W. Brown, A. V. Brown, Robert Thomas, Emma Hearn, Grover Hearn, Earny Hearn. in consideration of ten dollars to be paid to them paid by J. S. Thomas, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, has bargained and sold, and by these presents does bargain, sell and convey to said J. S. Thomas and to his heirs and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land Chatham County, State of North Carolina, adjoining the lands of J. S. Thomas, Mary Johnson, Kate Lasater, S.B. A.L. R.R. Co. and others and bounded as follows: Beginning at J. S. Thomas corner in Mary Johnson's line, thence running South with said Mary Johnson's line to Mrs. Kate Laster line, thence with Mrs. Lasater line to the Sea Board Air Line Co. line, thence with Rail Road line to J. S. Thomas line, thence with said J. S. Thomas line; thence with said J. S. Thomas line to the beginning, containing (34) Thirty four acres, more or less. The above described land is the Dowry land of the late Bettie Thomas. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD THE aforesaid tract or parcel of land, and all privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging to the said J. S. Thomas, and to his heirs and assignes to their only use and behoof forever. And the said W. H. Thomas, Nancy Thomas, F. M. Haithcox, Nettie Haithcox, J. D. Thomas, J. W. Thomas, Jack Pattrick, Ruthy Pattrick, J. M. Brown, Nancy Brown, N. W. Brown, A. V. Brown, Robert Thomas, Emma Hearn, Grover Hearn, Earny Hearn, covenants with said said J. S. Thomas, & his heirs and assigns, that they are seized of said premises in fee, and have a right to convey in fee simple; that the same are free and clear from all incumbrances, and that they will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whomsoever.
