THIS DEED, Made this the 20th day of January 1892, by F. M. Haithcox, & wife Nettie of Chatham County, and State of North Carolina, of the first part, to Josiah Thomas, of Durham County and State of North Carolina, of the second part: WITNESSETH, That said F. M. Haithcox, & wife Nettie in consideration of Fifty DOLLARS, to them paid by Josiah Thomas, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have Bargained and Sold, and by these presents doth Bargain, Sell and Convey, to said Josiah Thomas, his heirs and assigns, a certain tract or parcel of land in --------------- (nothing written - blank marked out) Township, Chatham County, State of North Carolina, adjoining the lands of T. L. Lasater, J. R. Thomas, and others, bounded as follows, viz. Beginning at a stake in J. R. Thomas line, thence nearly South with said J. R. Thomases line to Jos. Thomas corner, Jamies (sp ?) Hears corner, thence north to Jos. Thomas corner. Thence east with Jos. Thomas line to stake in J. R. Thomases line to the beginning, containing Seven acres & and a half (7 1/2) acres, TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the aforesaid tract or parcel of land, and all privileges and appurtenances thereto belonging, to the said Josiah Thomas, & his heirs and assigns, to his only use and behoof forever. And the said F. M. Haithcox, & wife, Nettie, covenant use with (?) said Josiah Thomas, his heirs and assigns, they they seized of said premises in fee, and have right to convey the same in fee simple; that the same are free and clear from all incumbrances, and that they will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whomsoever.
