All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Elizabeth Moye ermoye2@hotmail.com January 20, 2008, 2:31 pm Written: January 9, 1825 Recorded: August 1826 Chatham County, North Carolina Deed Book A-A, pages 127& 128 This Indenture Made the twenty ninth day of January in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight hundred and twenty five Between Hannah Thompson of the County of Chatham and State of North Carolina of the one part, and the children and heirs of George Thompson my son Balaam McSwane Thompson’s children and Elizabeth Teague my Daughter and her Children of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Hannah Thompson for and in consideration for the love and affection which I have and bear towards them I the said Hannah Thompson do by these presents give grant and make over to the children of George Thompson my son Two and a half shares or lots of land in my Dower which I purchased from William Thompson Balaam Thompson Ruth Thompson Rebecca Bryant, Jeremiah Thompson Hannah Brewer and Dorcas Matton heirs of Balaam Thompson Dec’d who were intitled to The same at my death and to the Children of Balaam McSwaine Thompson my son two Shares or lots of the aforesaid lands purchased as aforesaid and to Elizabeth Teague by Daughter and her children two and a half shares or lots of the aforesaid lands purchased as aforesaid and to Betsey Jane Thompson daughter of George Thompson my son I give one horse cattle [?] named Farmer The right title and Interest of the said land and cattle [?] unto the said George Thompsons children That is to say The Said Betsey Jane Thompson Balaam McSwane Thompsons children namely John S.[?] Thompson Charles Thompson and Rebecca Thompson And Elizabeth Teague and her heirs and to all such of their ----- children which hereafter Shall be born as their Lawful Heirs. I the Said Hannah Thompson do hereby warrant and forever defend The Same unto the Said Children their heirs or assigns against the Lawful claims of all persons whatsoever. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal the day and date first above written. Witness Brantley Jones her Jas Thompson (Jurat) Hannah H Thompson (seal) Mark Chatham County August Session 1826 The Execution of the Deed was duly proven in Open Court by the oaths of James Thompson a subscribing witness thereto and on Motion was ordered to be registered.
