CHATHAM COUNTY, NC - DEEDS - John Welch to Peter Perkins, 11 May 1789 ----¤¤¤¤---- Chatham County, North Carolina, Deed Book A, p 625 _______________________________________________________________________ This indenture made the eleventh day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty-nine between John Welch and Elizabeth his wife of Chatham County and State of North Carolina of the one part and Peter Perkins of the County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said John Welch and Elizabeth his wife for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred pounds current money to him in hand paid by the said Peter Perkins before the sealing and delivering these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged Hath granted, bargained and sold aliened released and confirmed and by these presents doth from himself and his heirs grant, bargain, and sell alien release and confirm unto the said Peter Perkins his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the said County of Chatham on the waters of Ephraims Creek and bounded as followeth (to wit) Beginning at a Black Jack Tree on Bunn Johnson's line on the east side of the Anson Road and the south side of the main road leading to Fayetteville at the cross road thence [north] on the said line one hundred and fifty-five poles to John McGwines line at a post Oak thence on said McGwins line east one hundred and eight poles to Henry Welches line thence south along the said Welches line seventy-seven to a Hickory on said branch side thence west eleven poles to a Black Oak on the Anson Road thence along the Anson Road about ninety poles to a red Oak thence [nearly] east twelve poles to a Black __ Bush thence parallel with the Road twenty-four poles to a White __ Bush then about nineteen poles to the beginning containing seventy acres more or less being a part of a tract of land granted to Enoch Lewis in the year one thousand seven hundred and fifty-eight and from him to William Wiley and from said Wiley to Walter Welch and from said Welch to Luke Welch and by a clause in the last will and testament of the said Luke Welch left to his son John Welch, his heirs and assigns forever the revertion and reverting remainder and remainders rights and services thereof and also all the estate right, title, interest property claim and demand whatsoever of them the said John Welch and Elizabeth his wife and the said land and premises and of in and to every part and parcel thereof to have and to old to the said Peter Perkins, his heirs and assigns with all and singular the appertainances thereunto belonging or in [any]wise appertaining thereto unto the said Peter Perkins his heirs and assigns forever and the said John Welch and Elizabeth his wife doth forever warrant and confirm the said land and premises from the lawful claims or claims of any person or persons claiming under him, them or any of them.
