CHATHAM CO., NC. DEED BOOK G, pp. 305-306, 26 January 1794:
George Williams purchased 74 acres of land from Henry Kelly for thirty seven 
pounds.
 
". . . . on the waters of Newhope on both sides of the Indian Branch begining 
at a post Oak in Gray Barbees line thence runing East forty four two third 
poles to a pine in said Barbees line thence South two hundred and sixty five 
poles to a pine on the south side of Indian Branch thence West forty four and 
two third poles to red oak thence North two hundred sixty five poles to the 
first Station containing seventy four acres to be the same more or less. . ."

CHATHAM CO., NC DEED BOOK S, pp. 347-348, 17 September 1812:
George Williams purchased 305 acres from George Barbee for eleven hundred 
dollars.
 
". . . on Newhope creek Beginning at a hickory & pine on original corner in 
said George Williams Spring branch running East with Williams & Kelly's lines 
three hundred and forty four poles to a post oak in Beasley's line thence 
north with that line ninety Eight poles to a pine thence West ninety six poles 
to an ash at the fork of a branch thence down the Wolfpit branch as it 
meanders to a Willow oak in the old line thence west with that line Eighty 
poles to a red oak on the Fayetteville road thence up said road twenty six 
poles to a dogwood thence west thirty Eight poles to a chesnut oak & mulberry 
on the bank of North East creek thence down the same as it meanders to Newhope 
and down the same to the mouth of the said George Williams spring branch 
thence up the same to the first station. . . . . "

GeorgeWilliams Senr. purchased 440 acres from Fendal Beasley for one thousand 
dollars.
 
". . . . on both sides of Panter Creek water of New Hope Beginning at a pine 
adjoining James Barbee thence South across Panter Creek to a pine in Barbee 
Sears's line thence East to a post oak Bry. Harwoods corner thence South to 
Bry Harwoods other corner a hicory, thence East to a post oak Brittain Harwood 
corner thence north with (?,) Beasley's line to  Panter Creek thence up & 
along the various courses of said Creek to the County line that divides Wake 
and Chatham Counties, thence North with said county line to a pine Mathew 
Holden's corner thence West with said Holdens line to a pine said Holdins 
other corner thence north with Holdens lines to a pine at the corner of his 
field thence west to the beginning containing by estimation four hundred and 
forty acres be the same more or less. . . . "

DEED BOOK V, p. 240, Chatham Co., NC, August 1818:  George Williams of Chatham 
County sold to David Sauls of Chatham Co. three hundred fifty acres more or 
less for $2250.  (land on Beaver Creek and New Hope Creek)
