   -- At a meeting of the Agricultural Society for the County of Chatham, at 
Pittsboro, on the 3rd instance, the following premiums were awarded, viz.:
   To C. J. WILLIAMS, $50 for the best managed farm
      RODERICK COTTON, $5 for best colt
      C. J. WILLIAMS, $5 for best bull calf
      WILLIAM H. HARDIN, $3 for best heifer calf
      JONATHAN HARALSON, $3 for best boar pig
      C. W. WILLIAMS, $3 for best sow pig
                      $1 for best Ram
                      $1 for best Ewe
      MRS. JOSEPH SMALL, $5 for best piece of mixed homespun
      MRS. JOHN BURNS, $5 for best bed cover
