The Landmark 1822
Dec. 15, 1882

The Record says that Mr. HENRY FIELDS OF Chatham having been very much annoyed 
with rats in his barn recently resorted to a very novel and successful way of 
killing them. He placed a large stone jar, about half full of water, in the 
barn and in the jar next morning he found 32 dead rats.
