Our readers remember the romantic marriage, last fall, of Mr Jas Gilliam, of
this township, to a widow from New York, who had advertised in a newspaper for a
husband. Well, just as might have been expected, this romantic marriage has
ended in a separation, for, on last Tuesday, Mrs Gilliam returned to her
northern home. And there was quite a contrast between her coming and going -
between her arrival and departure.


(There is a marriage record from 4 November 1897 between James W Gilliam from
Chatham County, age 44 and Frances D Middaugh from Westfield NY, age 42.)
