AUSLEY DEAD Well Known and Aged Citizen of This City Mr. T.A. Ausley, who lived at 302 Fuller street, died last night at 10:55 after a long illness in which no specific complaint was given as the cause. He had twice lived in Durham, coming here a year or so ago from Norfolk where he had spent ten years. He had previously lived in Durham and was known well to the people of Durham. He was sixty-nine years old and leaves two sons, W.B. Ausley and J.D. Ausley, of this city, and Mrs. J. M. Hopkins, a daughter. He is also survived by his wife, Mrs. E.A. Ausley, and a brother and a sister. At this writing the funeral arrangements are incomplete. Mrs. Hopkins lives in Norfolk and is expected here. Thomas was born in Chatham County, NC on November 3, 1842 and was the son of Almond and Mandy Brasington Ausley. Thomas was a farmer. According to his death certificate, he was buried "in the country." Thomas & Emeline's daughter, Amanda, married Lonnie C. Maynor on June 4, 1900 in Durham. Lonnie was the son of William Judson & Mary Ann Phillips Maynor and grandson of William & Chloe Phillips Maynor of Chatham/Moore Counties, NC.
