He was about 50 years old. He was an honest and intelligent christian gentleman. He was a kind neighbor and greatly respected and loved by all, who knew him.... His excellent wife and children have the sympathy of the whole community. He was buried on Sunday with Masonic honors, at the old homestead of his father-in-law. Hasten Gilmore, deceased. The funeral was attended by a large body of friends and relatives.
