Yorke's company, aged about 28. He was in the battle of Manassas, where he fought well, but exhaustion and privation made him sick. After partially recovering, he started home in charge of a friend who had been sent for him, but became suddenly worse before reaching Raleigh, and died there, within 20 miles of his home.
