She was the widow of a soldier in the Mexican war, and for several years past has been kindly taken care of by Bryan Burroughs, Esq. Transcriber’s Note: Chloe Phillips Maner (1808-1879) was married to William Maynor. The only official records we have found naming William Maynor (Maner/Mainard) are the death certificates of his children. The 1917 death certificate of his son Joseph (Josiah) states that William was born in Sampson County, NC. So far, I have not been able to make a direct connection to other Maynor’s in Sampson County. Chloe’s siblings were William (b. 1810), Catherine/Katherine (b. 1815), Joshua (1820-1884), Berry / Crisenbery (b. 1825).
