CHATHAM COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - James Alonzo Parrish, 15 Sep 1950 ----¤¤¤¤---- Herald Sun Newspaper, Sat Sept 16, 1950 page 2 section A James Alonzo Parrish: Funeral rites for James Alonzo Parrish, 79, of Arnette Ave, former resident of Chatham County who died yesterday, will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery. The body will remain at the residence until removed to the church for the funeral service. Active pallbearers will be the following nephews: Thomas Sears, Grady Mason, Brodie Mason, Connie C Davis, Gene Sears, and Percy Sears. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Men's Bible Class of the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church. Serving as floral bearers will be members of the Lillie Yates Sunday School Class of the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church. He was born and reared in Chathan County, the son of the late Duncan Parrish and Lina Davis Parrish. The greater part of his life he was engaged in farming in Chatham County. Tow years ago he moved to Durham where he had lived since. For a number of years he was a member of the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church of Chatham County. In 1897 he was married to Miss Pennie Sears of Chatham County, who survives as do one son, Percy A Parrish of Durham; two sisters, Mrs. J W Mason and Mrs. W A Byrd, both of Chatham Count and a number of nieces and nephews. ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
