I Archibald BROWN of Chatham County and state of North Carolina being weak of body but of perfect mind and memory and calling to mind of mortality of this body and that it is appointed for all men once to die and seeking such things as had pleased God to bless me with do give and dispose of them in manner and form following of...? ITEM: I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Agnes Brown all my beds and furniture whatsoever thereunto belonging together with all the household furniture of every kind with all home made cloth and materials which may be ready to make of same also on half of the cattle and hogs and all the sheep, one sorrel horse and a young mare and all the hard money that may be in my possession at my death for her to dispose of as she wishes also the land and plantation where on I now live enduring her lifetime and at her death my will and desire that all return to my son Andrew Brown. ITEM: I give and bequeath to my son Andrew BROWN three Negroes to wit, Ben, Frank, Janey and the other half of my stock of cattle and hogs. The Bay mare with her increase and all the rest of the land except sixty acres that I leave to my daughter Hues. I also give my son Andrew all debts due me at my death to him and his heirs forever. ITEM: I give and bequeath to my daughter Ann HUES sixty acres of land lying at the upper end of my plantation I now live on joining Moore line, it being my last entry of land to her and her heirs forever. ITEM: I give and bequeath to my grandauters Mary & Rebecah Hues one Negro woman Nam'd (named) Silve to be equally divided Between them to them and there Heirs forever.. ITEM: I give and bequeath my granddaughter Sarah HUES one Negro girl named Peg to her and her heirs forever. ITEM: I give Lewis SPEARS Ten pound to come out of my estate at my death and to be put in trust and paid him at the age of twenty years to him and his hears forever. And I appoint my trusty friends, Joseph BRANTLEY and John RAMSEY executors of this my last will and testament and revoking and disannulling all other wills be me heretofore made in witness thereof I have hear unto set my hand and seal this 27th day of March in the year of our Lord 1795."
