CHATHAM COUNTY, NC - WILLS - Birdsong Burns, 22 Feb 1849 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Will - Birdsong Burns - Will Book C - pg. 364 Feb. 1849 - Probated 1854 In the name of God Amen, I Birdsong Burns being of sound and perfect mind and memory blessed be God , do this day the twenty-second day of February eighteen hundred and forty nine do make and endow this my last will and testament in manner and form viz . I first give and bequeath my soul to God who gave it and my body to be buried in a decent Christian burial, Secondly, I give and bequeath unto my wife Jane W. Burns all my property both real and personal during her natural life and widowhood with the following exceptions to wit. I give one dollar each to all of brothers and sisters after the death of my wife. I give to my step-son George W. Burns one half of the lands I may die possessed of including the dwelling house where I now reside and to my step- daughter Henrietta Burns I give the other half of the above mentioned lands. I also give to George W. Burns a certain negro girl to wit Mary. All my perishable property to be sold and equally divided between G. W. Burns and Henrietta Burns by my executors. I do hereby appoint my worthy Jordan Tyson and Oran(?)
