First I will that all my just debts be paid in due time by my executors hereafter named. I will and bequeath to my well beloved wife Mary Cook, one third part of all my land lying on the South side of Blassinghams branch, also, feather Bed, Bedstead & furniture and one pine chest, one Black Walnut Table, & one Loom & Gears, one sorrel mare, saddle and Bridle, one cow & Calf, one Plough & Gears, one Negro woman named Eady during her, the said Mary Cook's life or widowhood and then the above named Negro Woman Eady, to be the property of my son John Cook. Item. I give and bequeath to my son John Cook, all my Land on the North side of Blassinghams branch on which he now lives, also one Negro Boy named, Jordan, and one other Negro Boy named Dick and one Waggon and Gears & one Jack screw . Item. I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Ann Pilkenton one Negro Girl named Ruth Item I give and bequeath unto daughter Mary Fike, one Negro Boy named James. Item. I give and bequeath to my Daughter Susannah Curl one Negro Girl named Hannah. Item. I give & bequeath to my Grandson Abraham West, one negro Boy named Ben. Item. I give & bequeath to William Burchet son of Elizabeth Burchet Fifty pounds to be paid by my executors when he shall come to lawful age. Item. I will that the residue of my Land after John Cook's part and the widow's third part together with the stock of all kinds, Horses, Cattle, Hogs, & Sheep with all the plantation & farming utensils be sold after my death. Also, the third part of the Land given to my (wife) during life or widowhood after her death or marriage be sold and the money arising from the above surplus property to be equally divided between my Wife & Anne Pilkinton, Mary Fike, Susannah Curl, and Abraham West above named.
