I John Douglas of the County & State of North Carolina being weak, of Body but of sound mind & memory thanks be to almighty God for it there calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that is appointed for all men once to die, I do & ordain his my last Will & Testament that is to say principally & first of all I give & commend my soul into the hands of almighty God that gave it, and my Body I recommend to the earth to be buried in a decent and Christian burial at the discretion, Exec'rs, nothing doubting but at the general resurrection, I shall receive the same again by the might of God and as touching such worldly Estate where with it has pleased God to bless me in this life. I give demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form. First - I give to my beloved wife Rachael Douglas during her natural lifetime, the Land whereon I now do live with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging. The land on the North side of the great Branch I give to Tabitha Pearson conditional that if Charles Pearson comes on the land to live and takes care of Rachael Douglas and sees to her concerns as quickly as he ca make it convenient after my death and will let my negro fellow Abraham live with him after the death of Rachael Douglas, if he should be the longest liver. And from the death of Rachael Douglas I free him for 99 years and then the land on the South side of the great Branch to be sold and the money to be given to Gensa (Jinsa) Famm or Fomm ? Two sheep I give to Sally Smith to be found in my stock what of my stock that my wife wishes to be sold I desire my Exec'rs to sell My Carpenters tools I have in the care of James Smith for his use and my family use. I do hereby utterly disallow and revoke and disannul all and every other former testament, wills Bequests & Execu'rs by me in anywise before named willed and bequeath satisfying & confirming this and no other to be my last Will & Testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 9th day of in the year of our lord Christ - 1800. Lastly I appoint my beloved friends Thomas Tatom and James Smith, Exec'rs of this my last Will & Testament.
