I Edward Edwards of Chatham County and State of North carolina being over sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God, therefore calling us to mind the mortality of my Body Knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last Will and testament that is to say, principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in decent Christian Maner at the discretion of my Executors nothing doubting but at the general resurection (resurrection) shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God that gave it and as touching such worly (worldly) estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give demise and depose in the following maner (manner) and form - Item, I give to my well beloved son Robert Edward, five shillings, secondly to my well beloved Daughter Elizabeth Lasiter five shillings, thirdly, to my well beloved son Hugh Edwards five shillings, fourthly, to my well beloved Daughter Hannah Stuart five shillings, Fifthly to my well beloved Daughter Rebekah Edwards two cows and calfs one bead (bed) and furniture one breeding sow. Sixthly I leave my land and all my other property in the hand of my well beloved wife Agness Edwards during life or widowhood and then sold and equally divided between my well beloved sons John Edwards and Oren Edwards. I likewise constitute make and ordain Robert Edwards & Hugh Edwards Executors of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby uterly disalow revoke and do annull all and every Testament will legacies and Bequests and Executors by me in any way before named wills and bequeaths ratifying and confirming this my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand & seal the date above written.
