In the name of God, Amen, I Henry Fields, of the County of Chatham,
State of North Carolina, being sick of body tho' in perfect mind and
memory blessed be to god. Do this 29th day of September in the year of
our lord Christ 1798 make and publish this my last Will and Testament in
manner following. I give unto my so John to him his heirs and assigns
forever, five shillings specie. I also give unto my son Richard Lewis &
James the sum of five shillings each to them and their heirs forever. I
give unto my wife one feather bed and furniture one line and woollen
wheel, one pot one cow and calf and one mare to her and her heirs
forever. I also give unto my son David one mare that he has in
possession and one cow and calf to him and his heirs forever. I also
give to my Daughter Mary one Bed and wheel to her and her heirs forever.
I give unto my son Theophilus one Rifle gun one young mare and one
Heifer yearling to him and his heirs forever.
I give unto my daughter Sarah one Heifer to her and her heirs forever.
I give unto my son Abraham one cow and calf to him and his heirs
forever.
I give unto my son Isaac one shot gun to him and his heirs forever.
I desire that my wife discharging my just debts, should I owe any have
all my crop stock of hogs and working tools for my her support and my
three youngest children after my decease-
I make and ordain Elijah Hunter and William Edwards executors of this my
last will and testament.
In witness whereof I, the said Henry Fields have set my hand and affixed
my seal this day and year above written. Signed sealed and published by
the said.
