State Archives film # C.022.50001 1782-1799 In the Name of God Amen, I harris George of the County of Chatham and State of North Carolina, being in a low state of Health, tho in my wright mind & in my proper senses, and calling to mind the mortality of my body and that it is appointed once for all men to die, I think proper to make this my Last Will and Testament in manner & form following, and first & foremost I give and recomend my soul to God that gave it & my body to be burried in a Christian Decent manner at the discretion of my friends & Exec'r. Nothing doubting but at the day of Reserection I shall put it on a fresh & as to such Worldly good as it has pleas'd God to bless me with, I give bequeath & dispose of in the following manner, that is first I give to my eldest son Emseley my young chesnut sorrel mare, Secondly I give to my son Presley my young colt to be deliver'd them when they come of age all the rest of my property, Real & personal I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Marey George during her Widdow Hood after that to be sold and Eacule (equally) divided amongst my children Emseley & Pressley to have only on Eacule part of the Land with all the Rest of the Children, all the Rest of the personal property Except the aforesaid Mare & Colt, to be eaculie divided betwixt allen Marey Lewsey, John william and the one yet on born, I also ordain Constitute and appoint my beloved Wife Marey/Marcy?
