First, to the Almighty and omnicient being I assign my Soul fervent strong hope that his mercy will lock over my transgressions which I have committed in this life and will extend to promote my happiness and everlasting rest in that which is to come- Secondly I will and bequeath to my son Billy Griffith and his Heirs forever my Bible and Dictionary= Item, I desire that all my personal Estate consisting of Stock Household & Kitchen furniture working utencils etc. be sold and twelve month credit and divided in the following manner: To witt, I will and bequeath to Sarah GriffiN (not Griffith) Twenty pounds to be paid out of the amount of the above sale by my executors and the overplus to be equally divided between my three youngest children Billy Griffith Polly Griffith & Celia Griffith which I will & bequeath to them and their Heirs forever and to be paid to them at there attaining lawfull age and in case either of them should die without lawfull Heir for their share to be equally divided between the survivors share and share alike and I also direct and desire that my Negroes and all my land lying on the east side of the Mountains be sold at two years credit from the sale thereof and divided in the following manner as follows I will and bequeath to Sarah GriffiN and her Heirs forever Twenty Pounds and the ballance to be equally divided in the following manner between my five children (To Wit) John Griffith, Pleasant Griffith, Polley, Celia & Billy and in case any of them should die without lawfull Heirs for their share to be equally divided between the survivors share and share alike and as to my land lying on the West side of the Mountains, I will and bequeath to my three sons & their Heirs forever share and share alike and if either of them should die without lawfull issue for their share to be equally divided between the survivors. I also request that my just debts & funeral Expenses be paid out of the whole of my estate and then divided as above mentioned. I also request that my Executers herein after nam'd try to provid some good place of abode for my two dauters Polley & Celia for without some provision of this kind from their young tender ages might be left in an helpless situation. I also constitute and appoint Zachariah Harman and James Howard Executers of this my last Will & Testament, hereby revoking and annulling all former Wills or Testaments by me or for me made.
