Wills 1779 (Probate date) Original Only "In the Name God Amon I John Headen being weak of Body But of perfect mind and memry Blessed be God for the same Do this 2nd of April and in the year of one thousand Seven hundred and Seventy Seven make this my last will and Testement in form and manner viz that is to say I lend to my loving wife Sarah Headen the plantation wheare on I now live to geather with the houshold good stok of Cattel sheep and hogs all the horses Excepting the Stone hors and one colt which I give to my Sone Andrew Headen also I lend to wife the improvement that lies over the River below Phillip Whites my will is that my wife have the youse of the aforesaid artecels during her widow Hood and if my wife should change her condition my will is that She have the one half of my Household goods and twenty pounds in money also one (creater- crester- creeter?) and sadle I give to my sone Andrew Headon the tract of land that I boght from John Ramsey I give the plantation wheare inow live to my Sone John Headon my will is my Sone John should want to settel that he may have the youse of the plantation wheare the old mill is til my Sone William comes of age I give to my sone John the Desk and Silver Shoe Buckles I give to my son William Headen the plantation wheare the old mill is to Goather with the Deeded and vacant land ajoining it I give to my Sone Aaron Headen the inprovement that I Boght from Zacariah Martain and Benjamine (Illegible) joyning the plantation wheare I now live and the land that I boght of John Ramsey my will is that my two sons Andrew and John pay my son Aaron twenty seven pounds a peace I give to my Sone Andrew My wagon and Tools I give to my Sone John the inprovement over the River lying Below Philip Whites I give to my Dafter Susanah one Bed and furnituer one Colt and two cows also I give to my Dafter Susanah fifty pounds in money I give to my Dafter Rachel one bed and furnitur one colt and two cows fifty pounds in money I give to my Dafter Sarah one Bed and furniture one colt and two cows fifity pounds in money My will is that my wife have the Youse my two negros that is Sharper and Mecar that is to Say During her widohood if they Behave wll if not my will is that they be sold and the mone arising there from be Divided Betwen My foure Sons My will is that my foure sons have the aforesd negros Devided amongst them after my wifes widowhood - I Give to my Dafter Rachel one Negro cald Betse Also I Give to my Dafter Susanah the negro ('the wench' written above the line) that Maroar is now big with my will is that my foure sons have my Smith tool Betwen them - My will is that if my wife should marry that the Remainder of my Stock and household Goods be Eeqelley Devided betwen all my sons and Dafters My will is that my Dafter Sarah have the next child that the negro wench has that is if she should have another my will is that all my lawfull Debts Be paid out of my Estate I Make and ordain my well be loved wife to be my Executrix and my two freends Elisha Hunter and Thomas Grave to be my Executers of this my last will and Testament in witness wwere of I have unto set my hand and seal the Day and Date above written in presents of us John Headen Jacob White Philip X White
