Item 1st First I give to my loving daughter Patsey A. O'Kelly one negro girl by the name of Winny and her increase and one hundred and fifteen dollars and fifty cents which she has received in household furniture and stock to her and her heirs forever. Item 2nd I give to my loving daughter Polly M. Williams two hundred dollars which she has rec'd also one hundred and fifteen dollars and fifty cents which she has also rec'd in property to her and her heirs forever. Item 3rd I give to my loving daughter Elizabeth B. Herndon one negro girl by the name of Clary and her increase and one hundred and fifteen dollars and fifty cents which she has rec'd in property also one hundred acres of land to her and her heirs forever. Item 4th I give to my loving daughter Delia C. Jenkins one negro girl by the name of Tammy and her increase and one hundred and fifteen dollars and fifty cents to come out of estate to her and her heirs forever. Item 5th I give to my loving daughter Nancy Herndon one negro girl by the name of Minty and her increase one hundred and fifteen dollars and fifty cents which she has received in property also one hundred acres of land where she now lives to her and her heirs forever. Item 6th I give to loving daughter Penny W. Williams one negro girl by the name of Casanda and her increase and one hundred fifteen dollars and fifty cents which she has rec'd to her and her heirs forever. Item 7th I give to loving daughter Quintina Jenkins one negro girl by the name of Harriet and her increase and one hundred and fifteen dollars and fifty cents to come out of my estate to her and her heirs forever. Item 8th I give to my daughter Hasky B. Jenkins one negro girl by the name of Delpha and her increase and one hundred fifteen dollars and fifty cents to come out of my estate to her and her heirs forever. Item 9th My desire is that if either of the aforesaid negroes should die so they cannot get their equal part that it should be made up out of my estate to them. Item 10th I give to my son Joseph J. Jenkins the Barbee tract of land whereon he now lives and one hundred and fifteen dollars and fifty cents which he has rec'd in property to him and his heirs forever. Item 11th I lend to my son Sanford Jenkins (Jun.) one tract of land on New Hope and another tract adjoin the New Hope tract known by the Burnett tract and one tract known by the Juda Gregory tract during his natural life time and after his decease to his lawful children. It is my desire that my wife Delia Jenkins should have an open way through the above named lands to the low grounds of New Hope (Apparently, the previous sentence should have been in parentheses) also one horse by the name of Packholet, one bed and furniture, one cow and calf and fifteen dollars which he has rec'd. Item 12th I lend to Elizabeth Carter (Curtis written above Carter) one tract of land known by the name of Willmoore tract whe she now lives during her life time or widowhood. Item 13th I lend unto my loving wife Delia Jenkins all the balance of land and it is my desire that Elizabeth Curtis and the family of negroes I got of her should be supported by cultivating the tract of land I lend to my wife and the one tract I lend to Elizabeth Curtis. I also lend my wife one negro man by the name of Martin, one negro boy name Alston, one negro boy named Brink, one negro boy named Bartley two twin negro boys by name Macon and Farror, one negro boy by name Dempsey, one negro boy by name Peter, one negro woman by the name of Asley and her two daughters Gusiar and Avis, one negro woman by the name of Jinny and her daughter Cinda, one negro girl by name Cate and one named Arabella, one negro woman by the name of Suckey also all my household and kitchen furniture all my planation working tools, all my horses, cattle, hogs, and sheep all my carts and oxen except one cart and yoke of oxen which E. Curtis is to have the use of also one still and all my casks. It is also my desire and will that if Elizabeth Curtis's family of negroes that I got of her should have to work seperately from my family of negroes, that Elizabeth Curtis shall have two of the horses that I have above given to my wife leaving my wife three her choice and in the event that they should work seperately that each family should have provisions out of the stock on hand. After the death of my wife it is my desire that all the lands that I have not willed away be divided between Patsey A. O'Kelly, Polly M. Williams, Delia C. Jenkins, Penny W. Williams, Quintina Jenkins, Hasky B. Jenkins to them and their heirs forever. It is also my desire that if any of my lands should hereafter prove not to be good, that it should be made good to them out of my estate and after the death of my wife that all my children should share equaly in the residue of my estate. And if my wife at any time should see cause to call her children together and give her property up to them she is at liberty to do so. I make and ordain this my only and last will and Testament and appoint my loving wife Delia Jenkins and my son Joseph Jenkins my executors. (Seal) Jurat Sanford Davis Chatham County) This certifies that the foregoing last will and Testament of Sanford Jenkins Dec'd. was proved in open court by the oath of Sanford Davis a subscribing witness thereto and ordered to be recorded, whereupon Joseph Jenkins one of the executors named appeared in Court and was qualified.
