State Archives film # C.022.80001 In the name of God Amen, I John McSwane of North Carolina and Chatham County being thru the mercy of God, 'tho weak of body yet of perfect memory do constitute this my last will and Testament and desire it to be Received by all as such. Imprimis: I most humbly bequeath my soul to God my maker and I give my body to the earth, from whence it was taken. As to my worldly estate I order that all my debts be paid after which I give to my loving wife for term of her life the remainder of my estate, consisting of the land which I now live on and stock and after death to my sons Dennis & Edward McSwane and their heirs to be divided equally between them. And as constitute them Executors of this my last Will and Testament.
