In the Name of God Amen I William Minter of Chatham County and State of North 
Carolina being low in Health but Sound in mind & memory do make and appoint 
this my last Will & Testament (To wit)

Item I lend to my loving wife Sally Minter the land & Plantation whereon I now 
live during her widdowhood; but if she marries I desire that this my land be 
laid off in Three equal parcels as to Value and that She have her choice of 
one Third during her Natural Life

Item I lend the service and use of my Negroes Jack Cloe Davi & Lucy to my Said 
wife during her Natural Life and after her death to return to my children with 
their Increase

Item I lend to my wife during her Natural life my Grey mar & her colt fearnot; 
one side Saddle & Bridle; and at her death to Return to my children with 
increase to them & their heirs for Ever

Item I lend to my beloved Wife during her Natural life Two Feather Beds and 
Furniture; and at her death to return to my children to them and their Heirs 
forever

Item I lend to my wife five head of cattle and ten Head of my Hoggs and five 
head of my Sheep during her Natural life and at her death to return to my 
children; my desire is that after my death that my Executors Should an 
inventory of all my property; and have it entire on record for a gide to them 
& my children

Item I give the land whereon I now live to my Son Richd MINTER to him and his 
Heirs for ever but his Mother is to have a part of it as I have before 
directed during her Natural life and at her death he Shall be the Sole 
proprietor of the of it to him and his Heirs forever

Item I give to my Son Richd MINTER my Tract of land lying in Wake County Known 
by the Name of Hansils H________ joining to Abraham BLEDSOWS and running on 
the county line containing by estimation three Hundred acres to him & his 
Heirs forever

Item I give to my four children Elizabeth Polly Richd & Sally MINTER as 
follows to be equally divided between them Cherry Frank Sam Liddo Dinah Jim 
George Ron Ben and my piece of land I bought of Parrot STEPHENS lying on 
Shaddocks Creek Two hundred acres by estimation to be divided when Elizabeth 
marries or comes of age to them and their Heirs forever

My desire is that after all my Just debts is paid by my executors that all my 
estate that I have not disposed of theretofore shall be applied by my 
executors to the best advantage as they shall think for my children untill 
Elizabeth Shall be come of age or marry and then my desire is that there shall 
be an equall division of the estate not named between all my children only 
Richard & he shall have twenty pounds the most to be applied toward giving him 
good schooling and the rest to be Equally divided between them; to them and 
their Heirs forever.

My desire is that all my children shall be sufficiently schooled out of their 
legacy. Observe when the division takes place amongst my children: I desire 
that my wife my have one thing part of the plantation utincils and Household 
utencils induring of her natural life and at her death then to return to my 
children to them & their Heirs forever;

My desire is that my debts should be paid out of the money that is owing to me 
and if that is not Sufficient to sell as much of my present crop as is 
Sufficient to discharge them and the Balance of the crop to be for the Benefit 
of my family at the Discretion of my Executor Hearin and after named I do 
appoint my beloved wife Sally MINTER Execx and Burrell WILLIAMS & Thomas 
RAGLAND and Isiah LEAK & Joseph JOHNSON Executors to this my Last Will & 
Testament as disavowed all others. In Witness where of I have __________ my
