WILL BOOK C, pp. 215-216, I Richard Williams being of sound mind & memory blessed be God do make & ordain this to be my last will & testament in manner & form following (to wit) First I order & direct that all of my land that lieth East of Morgan's Creek be sold by my executors on a credit of nine months & the money arising from the sale thereof must be applied to paying off all of my just debts and the balance I give to my four former children that I had by my first wife share and share alike. My will & desire is that my executor sell at the same time & place Nelly, Partilda and Atlas on the saim credit & the money made secured & when collected is to be divided between my four children named above with this exception that one hundred dollars of it I give to my wife to school her children with & my Executor is directed to pay it over to her as soon as collected the children above named to share and share alike in the division of the money. Secondly. All my just demands that is due me must be collected by my Executor and paid over to my wife in addition to the above hundred dollars that I gave her to school her children with. I loan unto my beloved wife Martha Williams all of my land that lieth west of Morgan's Creek, the creek being the line to divide the two tracts during her life time and after her death I give it to her children that she had by me or may have by me share and share alike. I also loan her my two negro girls by the names of Harriet and Emilacy during her life time and after my wife's death I give the said girls Harriet & Emilacy & their increase to her children that she had by me or may have by me share and share alike as above stated and all of my stock of all kinds and all of my crop grownig (sic) or housed my waggon & gear & all of my working tools and all of my household & kitchen furniture and all of the pork or bacon on hand I leave for the use of my wife Martha Williams and her children that she has had or may have by me, and at her death all the property then on hand I give to my last children share & share alike. Thirdly, I do hereby ordain & appoint my nephew John Horton, Executor to this my last will & testament in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this the 26th day of December A.D. 1847."
