CHATHAM COUNTY, NC - WILLS - Daniel Lewis Vestal, 22 Jan 1921 ----¤¤¤¤---- Will was received from Clerk of Superior Court Chatham County, P. O. Box 369, Pittsboro, North Carolina 27312 (Original Will is in Book H, Pages 513-514, dated October 24, 1954) I, D. L. Vestal, of the aforesaid county and state, being of sound mind, but considering the uncertainty of my earthly existence, do make and declare this may last will and testament: First, My executor herewithafter named, shall give my body a decent burial, suitable to the wishes of my friends and relatives and pay all funeral expenses together with all my just debts, out of the first moneys which may come into his hands belonging to my estate. Second, Having already made my beloved wife, Addie Vestal, a deed my land in lieu of her dower a years support, I also give and bequeath to her on half of my (individual) household and kitchen furniture, and one half of my Reapes. Third, I give and devise to my son D. T. Vestal one half of my (individual) household and kitchen furniture and all my other personal property, consisting of one half of my Reapes, two buggies, one (1) horse wagon and harness, all farming tools, one horse, two cows, and any growing crops that may be on hand at the time of my death. Fifth, (FYI, his numbering was off) In case my wife and son can not agree on an equal division of my household and kitchen furniture, then my executor shall sell the same at public auction and divide the proceeds. Sixth, I hereby constitute and appoint, my son D. T. Vestal, my lawful executor to all intents and purposes to execute this my last will and testament, according to the true intent and meaning of the same, and every part and clause there of hereby revoking and declaring utterly void all other wills and testaments by me heretofore made.
