I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Mary Woody the sum of 500 dollars for her use and at her disposal and also two hundred acres of the land on which I now live including my dwelling house barn Spring Meadow and orchard for her use as long as she remains my widow. I give and bequeath to my sons James and Robert Woody all my lands lying on Mudlick Creek. James to have as much off of my land adjoining his as will make equal value with what is left and Robert to have the remainder including the building formally occupied by Thomas Hadley to hold to them and their heirs and assigns forever. I also give and bequeath to my above named sons the sum of one hundred dollars apiece. I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Woody (The typist assumes he is referring to land but there is no word between Woody and lying) lying on Haw River in Orange County to him and his heirs and assigns forever. I also give and bequeath to my son Thomas the sum of 100 dollars including the legacy left him by his grand father Hadley which is in my hands. I give and bequeath to my son Hugh Woody all of the plantation which I now live together with all my other lands adjoining it and also my saw mill with the materials thereinto belonging to hold to him the said Hugh Woody his heirs and assigns forever. the intent and meaning of my will is that the land and premises I leave with my wife be Hughs at the expiration f her widowhood. I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Dixon the sum of two hundred dollars. I give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth Woody the sum of four hundred dollars including the legacy left to her by her grand father which is in my hand. I give and bequeath to my daughter Ruth Woody the sum of four hundred dollars. I give and bequeath to my daughter Hannah Woody the sum of four hundred dollars. I give and bequeath to my grand son Hugh Dixon the sum of ten dollars. it is my will that if any of my children shall die whilst in minority and without spouse that there legacy be equally divided between the survivors my wife receiving a childs part. I Authorize my executor hereafter named to sell all of my personal estate goods and chattels of what kind or Nature so ever and make an equal division of the money between my wife and children male and female as if named. After the above willed sums are made up and provided there are not enough to make them up reduce each ones legacy in proportion to the sum willed I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint Samuel Woody and James Woody executor of this my last will and testament for which I allow them twenty five dollar each and lastly my wish and desire is that you my dear children may conduct yourselves with submission and consideration one toward another as becometh brother and sister and as children devoted to the lord.
