The people of this contry are all poor people but are accumilating very fast most people of this state come here almost penniless and had to take a start from the stump Land is high, from $5 to $15. improved land is fifteen per acre, parairie land $5. wages this year from 15 to 25 on a farm --- cash up and no grumbling. Frank seems in good heart, I think he will make Texas his home. He has two mustang ponies. You may look for Frank of a Sunday and you will see him on his mustang with a hymn book on his arm and a mustang gal by his side. Well now I will close this. You spoke something about my land. I will say to you to tell Huskins I am willing to take the amount he and I agreed on, that is if he will pay you the amount in a week or ten days after you get this. But if not, I don’t want to trade. Tell him I need the money now or I won’t need it at all, for I will have some money in a month. I authorize you to sign any writ or title he wishes for my interest in Peachtree Lot. If he wishes a voucher, if you will vouch for me I will make you whole in it and if I go home soon I will make him any kind of a title. If I don’t, I can sent it by register letter. So you now can sign any writ he wants you to and vouch if you wish. You keep five dollars for your trouble. You close the trade right away and if you get the money, send it to Moffaltown Belle Co., texas. I see nothing else necessary on this subject. It don’t make any difference who it makes mad. Tell him if he means business not hesitate a moment about the title for he is or shall be whole. tell Mother I am very well pleased with Texas & think I’ll make it my home in time to come it is a good healthe country as I ever saw any where I will come back an see you all in a year or two I should like to see you all and go with cot tate afusnut hunting Tell John leatherwood I ha got him a mustang gal picked out tell him I will answer his letter soon giv my love to all the children.
