Murphy Rites Arranged For C.W.Savage
Murphy- Funeral services for C.W. Savage, 81, Murphy hotel operator and 
businessman, who died of pneumonia Friday morning in a Murphy hospital, will 
be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in Murphy Presbyterian Church.
He had been for only a few hours.
Mr. Savage came to Murphy in 1915. He operated the Regal Hotel for a number 
of years, and later erected the Savage Hotel which he operated at the time 
of his death. He was a native of Stokes County and spent his early years in 
Mt. Airy.
Surviving are the widow; an adopted son, W. Burt Savage of Norfolk, Va; 
three brothers, W.A. of Cornelia, Ga., Charles P. of Tacoma, Wash; and 
Walter G. of Baton Rouge, La., two sisters, Mrs. A.J. Burns of Murphy, and 
Mrs. J.T. Griffith of Cornelia, Ga., four grandchildren and three nieces.
Burial will be at Sunset Cemetery, members of the Murphy Masonic lodge will 
conduct graveside rites.
